HELLO
I’m Anthony, or call me Antz, and I come from Hong Kong.
My design experience has exceeded twenty years unexpectedly. Starting at the age of seventeen, I started working-study Commercial Design and Multimedia Design. During which I explored and worked on television commercials and visual effects, print advertising, and even window display design. Later, I decisively shifted my focus to designing sports uniforms and casual clothing. By 2018, I became a full-time freelancer and further studied digital marketing, a pursuit I continue to this day.
Insights – Someone once asked me:
“Having transitioned from graphic design to sportswear design, and then to learning digital marketing, what are your reflections?”
I would say: Design has always been a combination of “conception and planning.” “Conception” is the ultimate goal, while “planning” is the process to achieve that goal. It refers to a goal-oriented and well-planned creative activity, with the core idea of “arranging various elements and evaluating their utility.”
When I shifted from physical design to learning digital marketing, this mindset of “conception and planning” was further validated and elevated. The digital world emphasises data, interaction, and real-time feedback. It taught me how to precisely layout information and evaluate its impact through data analysis, enabling quick strategy adjustments. This is not just a technical shift but a deeper understanding and pursuit of “design utility.”
I believe that, whether in traditional or modern contexts, cultural elements from different countries or regions can be skillfully integrated into design to create unique and meaningful works. And through digital marketing tools, I can bring these designs to a broader audience, maximising their value.
In simple terms, my insight is about how to express and interpret design across different materials and platforms. Of course, the details still require careful exploration! But what remains consistent is that they all revolve around concepts and creativity.
